Arusyak Vardanyan is an Armenian painter, educator, and poet born on July 28, 1991, in the village of Nor Khachakap, Lori Province. She is of Gardmanahai roots — a heritage that runs deep in her identity and quietly shapes the spirit of her creative work.
In 2012, she graduated with distinction from the Department of Fine Arts and Drawing at Vanadzor State Pedagogical Institute (VSPI), and in 2014 completed her Master's degree in Pedagogy and Psychology at Vanadzor State University — laying the dual foundation of artist and educator that has defined her path ever since.
Since 2010, Arusyak has been an active and consistent presence in the artistic life of Vanadzor, participating in nearly every exhibition and competition held in the city, including the annual Lori Artists' Exhibitions organized by the Vanadzor Museum of Fine Arts, as well as various international collegiums. Her first solo presentation came on November 14, 2011, when she exhibited approximately 30 canvases at the hall of St. Grigor Narekatsi Church in Vanadzor — a debut that announced a confident and deeply felt artistic voice. In August 2024, she held her first open-air solo exhibition in Vanadzor, bringing her work directly into the life of the city.
Since 2023, Arusyak has led an art group of her own founding, dedicated to sowing patriotic values and love of homeland in the hearts of the younger generation.
Her creative life extends beyond painting. In 2021, she became a member of the Arahet Literary and Artistic Club, through which her gift for poetry blossomed alongside her visual practice. She is the author of one independently published book and a contributor to several co-authored volumes — a painter who also thinks and feels in words.
Since 2024, she has served as the Head of the Union of Artists of the Gardmana World — a role that reflects both her deep rootedness in her ancestral heritage and her commitment to the broader Armenian artistic community.
As an educator, Arusyak has taught at the Spitak School of Fine Arts since 2022, and since 2024 at the secondary schools of Nor Khachakap and Arjhovit — bringing art, beauty, and meaning into the lives of students in the communities that shaped her.
She believes that art is a gift from God, and that to live through art is the greatest happiness a human being can know.
