Two small angels with golden halos float in a calm, green twilight sky above a huddle of crooked wooden houses. Thick white oil paint shapes their wings, while the softly blended acrylic sky fades to pale peach near the rooftops. Fine metal wires cross the scene, and a single bright red roof adds a spark of color to the dark, muted town. The golden halos glow against the cool green. It feels calm. A quiet, soft, handmade mixed media collage by Ani Hovak, from the Angels Over the City series, it suits a bedroom, reading corner or office where a peaceful, thoughtful mood is wanted.
