The Golden Birchwood - Hovhannes Avetisyan

A stand of slender white birches rises against a mosaic of blazing autumn color in this vibrant semi-abstract landscape. Hovhannes Avetisyan sets the pale, black-flecked trunks like vertical rhythms across a tapestry of fiery oranges, deep reds, golden yellows, and cool greens, with glimpses of bright blue sky breaking through the canopy above. The background dissolves into blocks of pure, luminous color, lending the woodland a tapestried, almost stained-glass quality, while the crisp birch trunks anchor the composition in elegant realism. Rich in texture and warmth, the work captures the dazzling spectacle of a forest at the height of autumn — a joyful celebration of nature's colour and light.
